Back in November my sister sent me a message. Do I know what Birchbox is? Of course I knew what they were but I hadn’t had the opportunity to order 1.
My amazing sister gifted me a 6 month subscription for a xmas/birthday present with the 1st box arriving this December.
Birchbox tailors their selections to the receiver and as this was my first box they don’t yet know my preferences. Opening up that first box and peering in to my products was so exciting. Here they are.
Pixi by Petra Shea Butter Lip Balm (Pixi Pink) £3.20
Before my first box I received an email asking what I would prefer as an Christmas treat. I had either a choice of the Pixi Lip Balm or the LOC Vibrant Matte Lipstick – Color Me Confident. I selected to surprise me and to be honest I wish I had selected the LOC Lipstick.
Whilst the lip balm has a wonderful texture and has kept my lips hydrated the pigment of the balm reminds me of a crayola crayon. Its a bit like the first ever lipstick you wear from a barbie makeup collection when you are 7. It’s certainly not a lip balm I will buy and will probably only use when I’m working out.
Kebelo Clarifying Shampoo £13.95
I am in love with this product. With the price being over £10 it did make me wonder what was so special about it. I used it only once and I understood.
I have abused my hair for years. It’s been bleached, chlorinated, striped, colored and heat styled to where it no longer felt like hair. Just one wash with Kebelo and it feels brand new. You only have to use it twice a month and I shall be doing so for the foreseeable future. Of all the products in this box I cannot recommend this enough.
Polaar IcyMagic Instant Eye Contour Energiser £22.00
I tested this out after a very festive evening with friends and just the metal rollerball woke my eyes up before the product had worked its magic.
I have to applaud Birchbox on this product as it was beautifully timed for the Christmas season and worked like a dream. My tired eyes perked up immediately which gave me the confidence to get on with my day.
The Ritual of Ayurveda Foaming Shower Gel £8.50
Right, I’m going to be really honest with you on this one. I am a huge Original Source Shower Gel fan. I love the smells, I love the packaging and I love the price. This shower gel did foam up, smelled nice and left my skin feeling clean. I’m not going to spend £8.50 on a shower gel.
It was nice to try something new but I won’t be purchasing this.
Spectrum Collection Marbleous Black B04 Brush £5.99
Best gift ever!!!!! Who doesn’t like Spectrum brushes? If you don’t your reading the wrong blog. lol. I was so impressed by this item.
It blends eyeshadow beautifully and is so easy to clean.
It really makes me want to go on a shopping binge for makeup brushes…
Subscriptions are easy enough to complete whether for yourself or as a gift. Details can be found here. After my gifted subscription ends I will be continuing it. I’ve already found 2 incredible products that I will be purchasing… I can’t wait to get my next box
I’ll be reviewing each box after I’ve used the goodies inside. Let me know how you find the products or if yours was any different 🙂
Love as always,
